PRESS RELEASE: Sold out shows in prestigious theatres in the Netherlands.
Chris Chameleon is back in South Africa after a very successful solo tour in the Netherlands, Belgium and London. (14 October - 15 November.) Chris`s theatre-tour in the Netherlands was a huge success. The Theater Tour was organised by Kik Productions (http://www.kikproductions.nl/) based in Utrecht. These theatres are all well known in the Dutch entertainment-industry and it was a remarkable cultural achievement in itself that Chris Chameleon was invited to do a solo Theater Tour. Most of the shows were sold out or close to capacity. Chris Chameleon is now without a doubt as big a star in the Netherlands as he is in South Africa. The tour itself took place in some of the most incredible theatres in Holland. From a former cathedral at Roepaen in Ottersom, to the Theater aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht, to the Koningstheater in Den Bosch, just to name a few. The tour ended on a very high note when Chris performed to a sold-out crowd at the renowned Kleine Komedie in Amsterdam. The theatre has two balconies, and was filled with 500 enthusiastic (and many new) Chris Chameleon fans. During the week leading up to the tour, Chris did some key radio interviews with some national radio stations as well as a local one. These shows included an interview on Concertzender radio's program "Bazar," Radio 1's "Oog op Morgen", Radio 1's "Link Atlas" and an interview on Radio Noord-Holland to name a few. But by far one of the most important radio shows was his hour-long interview between 7pm and 8pm with Radio 1's Tuesday night "Kunststoff" programme. The chemistry between the presenter and Chris was fantastic and numerous people at shows told Chris that they came because of that interview. The interview and info on it can be found by clicking here. The plan is to return in May to do a club tour and play some festivals in June/July/August. Then in October/November 2009 Chris will embark on another theater tour in the Netherlands, organised by Kik Productions. He will also do a theater tour in Belgium, which will be organised by Garifuna Productions. ï Chris Chameleon also did three great shows in London. Both his solo shows at Aardvark were sold out. Chris also did a once off rock show to a full venue with his London-based band (Dorp also performed) at Halfmoon in Putney. Staande ovasies vir Klassieke Chameleon DVD opname
Die DVD opname van Chris Chameleon se Klassieke Chameleon by die Aula Teater op 26 en 27 Januarie was `n groot sukses. Beide vertonings is deur `n gehoor van meer as `n duisend mense bygewoon en staande ovasies na albei vertonings het gespreek van groot lof vir `n produksie van uitstaande gehalte. Chris het met `n span musikante opgetree wat hom op tjello, fluit, klavier, kitaar en met perkussie begelei het. DiÈ veelsydige verkleurmannetije het nuwe, klassieke verwerkings van sy eie liedjies onder andere "Eerste Oogopslag"; "Sterredank", "Die Onverkrygbare", "Bitterbessie Dagbreek" en "Saved" aangebied. Chris het ook tot groot applous van sy gehore onvergeetlike weergawes van bekende liedjies soos "O Sole mio", "Here comes the night","Sunrise Sunset" en die "Onse Vader" gelewer. Lize Beekman het as gaskunstenaar `n duet van Chris se liedjie "Ek vir jou" saam met hom gesing. Om alles af te rond het Chris se humoristiese sÍgoed tussen die liedjies deur die gehoor gaande gehad. Klassieke Chameleon sal ook by KKNK, Oudshoorn aangebied word. Die DVD word in Maart 2008 bekendgestel. Klassieke Chameleon DVD sal Chris se derde DVD wees wat uitgereik word (ander: Volkleur en Flight of an Extraordinary Alien.) PRESS RELEASE: CHRIS CHAMELEON on tour in Europe
(Release Date: 1 October 2007) Chris Chameleon will be touring the Benelux with popular Dutch band SPINVIS from 19 October to 28 November. Chris has been to the Netherlands often in the past few years to perform at selected venues and festivals. His phenomenal solo performances have gained him many fans in Europe and at a recent festival in Folkwoods, Eindhoven, a Dutch publication wrote that "Chris Chameleon was the surprise of the festival." There are also three shows scheduled in London from 19 to 21 November: Chris will perform two solo shows and one show with a band. In August 2007 Chris signed a contract with Excelsior Recordings in the Netherlands for the distribution and marketing of his new Afrikaans album "EK VIR JOU".
