CHRIS CHAMELEON – BIOGRAPHY in brief
Chris Chameleon first exploded onto the South African stage not as a musician, but as a young actor in 1989 winning South Africa’s largest national acting competition. He spent the ensuing 5 years performing in more than 20 television series, as well as being the lead vocalist and bassist for the eclectic band Blue Chameleon.
Blue Chameleon was one of the few uncompromisingly original bands in South Africa during the early nineties. The band toured the country with their lavish brand of alternative rock and new wave blues and eventually released their debut album titled Blue Chameleon.
Blue Chameleon came to an end early in 1995 and Chris Chameleon went from opening for Roxette in front of a stadium packed with 57,000 to working overseas with a Dutch theatre company in Holland.
